A 15 percent buyers premium is now charged at our tool sales unless otherwise advertised by us. We do not like having to charge it, but it had been at 10 and 12 percent for 15 years while our competition was charging 15 to 20 percent or more.
We use the buyers premium we collect to offset the ever-increasing costs (fuel, hotels, advertising, hall rental, vehicles like trucks and trailers) associated with putting our sales together. By not having to pass all these costs onto our consigners, we are able to attract better consignments and offer competitive rates.
